Video Games?!?

yea, so I know I said this post would be about the AFC's best chance to beat Green Bay.... but what i said about San Francisco goes for the two AFC teams that can legit beat Green Bay (Baltimore and PIttsburgh)

Run the ball, don't turn it over and stop Green Bay's sorry run game... and there's a shot of winning...

What  I wanna talk about now is VIDEO GAMES

I've been hardcore into Call of Duty the last 4 years (sadly) and I've been playing alot of Battlefield 3 lately. I think BF3 is LIGHT YEARS better than MW3. But better than those.... SKYRIM

Packer's top threat in the NFC...

The teams in the playoffs (at the time of writing) are Green Bay, San Francisco, New Orleans, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta in the NFC. The Lions and Giants are also still in contention and alot could change over this coming weekend.

Now who among those could end the Packers run for perfection???

  • New York - Good run defense and their pass defense is near the bottom of the league in YPG. And while Eli Manning is playing pretty well, they don't have a good enough running game or a quick strike, big play offense to hang around Green Bay
  • Detroit - Where to start with Detroit... Decent front 7, lackluster secondary, zero discipline. On offense, Megatron is a beast, so he'll always be a problem for opposing defenses, but after Johnson, no one on the offense scares you.
  • Atlanta - too inconsistent on offense and in the bottom half of the league in pass defense. They're #3 in run defense... too bad Green Bay is #30 in rush offense.
  • Chicago - definitely would have been my pick 2 or 3 weeks ago. Their offense looked unstoppable with Forte's running opening up the play action. And the defense was playing out of it's mind. Well now 3 weeks have passed and the defense is still playing out of it's mind. One this has changed though, Matt Forte and Jay Cutler both get injured. Without them, the offense only put up 3 points against the Chiefs.
That just leaves New Orleans and San Francisco...
  • New Orleans - On offense, they are one of 2 teams in the entire NFL that can hang with Green Bay (New England being the other), so lets start there.
    • New Orleans is #1 in the league with 325 passing YPG and Green Bay is #3 with 309. New Orleans big advantage is in the run game. Green Bay's rush offense doesn't scare a single person and New Orleans is averaging 123.3 YPG and Darren Sproles is definitely someone to be reckoned with.
  •  New Orleans - On defense both these teams rank in the bottom 3 in the league in pass YPG. Green Bay has the edge I think becuase they have that 'it' factor New Orleans did a couple years ago. They are ball hawks and always seem to make a big play when they need it.
 And then there was one..

Here's why I think San Francisco has the best chance (in the NFC at least) to stop Green Bay from going 19-0... they're running game. Yes, I know I just said that New Orleans has a good running game, but c'mon, they're a passing team. They aren't the type of offense to hold the ball for 8 minutes at a time, San Fran is. Their power run's and counter sweeps are exactly the type of thing I don't think Green Bay can defend and the passing game, while not stellar is opened up by the run. San Fran has the best front 7 in the league on defense and they have the 2nd best turnover margin (GB is actually #1). Alex Smith is definitely playing the best of his career right now and isn't turning the ball over.

So if San Francisco takes care of the ball and that running games bleeds the clock dry, I think they have a realistic chance to beating the Packers in the NFC title game.

Post #1 and the Green Bay Packers

What up guys. My first blog post ever, hope you all enjoy it and keep coming back.

Well the Green Bay Packers are 12-0 and are basically a lock to finish the regular season 16-0. The Giants were their real last test. The Raiders and Chiefs suck too much to be real threats, the Bears were playing excellent football... until Jay Cutler and Matt Forte got hurt. The Lions are the Lions, they're playing to stupid and too undisciplined to be a real threat, and while you still have to worry about Megatron, there's nobody else on that offense that scares people.

Will the Packers finish 19-0? Probably.

But stick around, in my next couple posts, I'm gonna talk about who I think has the best shot to upset the Packers, in both the NFC and AFC.

Hope you guys enjoyed!
